Cracked Dry Heels – Creams Do Not Work?

This is a condition called Pellagra and no amount of creams, lotions and potions will help. Finding the cause instead of a “band aid” will get to the root of this. So, what DOES cause this ugly dry and sometimes painful issue? It’s actually a B3 deficiency (Niacin).

It’s important to point out that there are different levels of Pellagra going from a few tiny cracks all the way to very wide gouges.

Pellagra doesn’t appear overnight. It’s a slow growing issue that gradually does get worse with time and it all begins in the GUT. Your gastrointestinal tract, with symptoms such as diarrhea and a lot of upset inflammation is the beginning slowly moving to affect the skin.


Here are some symptoms of B3 deficiency:

Sensitivity to light

Cracked skin and rough skin

Tendency to quarrel, argue

Odor sensitivity. Hypersensitive

Dizziness with sudden movement

Black tongue. Others too but these are the obvious ones.


Foods To Help Boost Your B3 Are:

Turkey

Chicken

Pork

Lamb

Mushrooms

Grass Fed Beef

Avocado

Fish

Seeds

It could be the diet, but generally it is not. It means the gastrointestinal tract is damaged. Something happened to destroy the lining of your gut. It could be celiac, corn consumption, gastro surgery etc. However, replacing B3 is crucial for skin.

L-Glutamine, Bone Broth gives you this. Lactic acid from Kombucha tea and more of the fermented foods also boosts your B3.

If you are an alcoholic this will destroy your B3, or a history of anti-biotics also destroys B3.

Corn does not have AL tryptophan which turns into B3. Many poor countries with a diet of corn suffer from Pellagra as they have no B3 in their diet.
